The only thing you can Colonize with is a Colony ship.

Don't send resources or ships with it, they will simply be destroyed. You only get the basic resources from a Colony ship when it colonizes a planet. However, it does give you the starting resources you need to get started with buildings.

Once you have built one, find an empty slot, and through the fleet menu enter the coordinates.

If their is a destroyed planet (that you can see) or sometimes if it is a slot with a recently destroyed planet that is no longer visible, you will not be able to colonize there.

Try another spot.

The bottom menu on the left is [Game Help]. Just under that is a tab for [Just Joined]. That will tell you the order of buildings that is good to start a new colony with. Once the planet has been colonized, you will be able to send additional resources to it.

Good luck.

ya bro, he says he doesnt know how to colonize it, he doesnt ask how to build on it.
pff, all u veteran players think u know everything while only despot knows how to answer then right.

to colonize, you must click on fleet, put in 1 outpost ship. then go to next menu. on the first line you will be able to set in order from left to right: the galaxy, the system, the planet. its automaticly standing on the planet this fleet is created. you must change it into a number 1-15 of a planet that isnt colonized yet.

then go to next. here you will be able to click on colonize. dont do anything else. accept the mission, fleet should be on their way and on arrival it automaticly colonize the planet if it isnt destroyed or taken.

Being a veteran of the game does not confer any ability to decipher what was at best a vague description of the problem. Helping out new players doesn't benefit any "Vets" directly. It is a magnanimous gesture particularly considering how sparsely he described his problem.

Throw in the fact that the question has been answered in another thread and there is no reason to give the people who tried to help any slack.

Despot answered the same exact question before:

what you mean doesnt help vets? you now know hes a newb and you most lickely already got him as next target once he comes to rank with you.

after all, this is still a war game. guilds and friends are optional.

LOL, what a vacuous argument. So we are helping him setup a colony ship so he can build up and eventually build a target?
