i got one idea i think you all will like this...it is that to get officer points while mining,attacking,looting and defending.
mining:it is that we get a new mining level when we have high mining output and the resources stored
attacking:we get a new attacking level when we attack someone and their fleet &dfences got destroyed
looting: we get a looting level when we get enough loot from a player..
and to use this points we can add officers like these are few examples:
MINER:
The MINER is a expert in astro-mineralogy and crystalography. He assists his teams in metallurgy and chemistry as he also takes care of the interplanetary communications optimizing the use and refining of the raw material along the empire. +4% Resource production per level.
ADMIRAL:
The Fleet Admiral is an experienced combat war veteran and skilled war strategist. In the toughest of battles, he is able to create an overview of the situation and contact his subordinated admirals in a moments notice. +5% Attack, Shielding and Armor per level.
ELECTRICIAN:
The ELECTRICIAN is a specialist on energy management and defense capabilities. In times of peace, he increases the energy of the colonies, insuring an equal distribution of power across all the grids. +5% Energy per level.
SCIENTISTS:
Scientists are part of a guild concurente than technocrats. They specialize in the improvement of technology. -10% research time.

I sort of like the idea...
but that means the bigger players that have the huge fleets to do all that stuff will just get even bigger, while people like me that started recently(I forgot when I started but I think I've been here less than a month) will have to struggle even more to catch up
also about your bonuses
miner: might be good for a player who doesn't actually play, but I get far more resources from farming others than I do from my own planet
admiral: there are researches that allow you to do that
electrician: this is a good idea, but I'd prefer it be added maybe to the energy research(bonus per level type thing)
scientist: get same bonus from upgrading research lab...since you can't upgrade a research lab while researching(not even on another planet) I'd say a better way to deal with this would be to change the lab building rules a bit
but I do like your idea of some type of rcognition for big hits...

it will be useful for all noobs and all players it is common so it will be helpfu if you try it
and that admiral it is a great help it will increase your W/S/A without increasing the tech levels as it gets higher and higher every time

don't think you got what I meant...
bigger players have bigger fleets
smaller players have small fleets
bigger players can destroy bigger fleets
smaller players can destroy small fleets
if your bonuses are based on amount of ships destroyed bigger players are going to get the bonuses as they can destroy more ships than small players...
if bonuses are just based on destroying a fleet/defenses during an attack, larger players have more fleet slots to send out more fleets to do that also...
meaning bigger players get bigger bonuses, which in turn just makes them even harder to catch

i got what you said... and it is still will be nice to have this at least geologists and the electricians(scientist)
