The Way i see it is , if theres resources there that i can profit from if i dont take it someone else will so of course i will attack 
i do not see it as a way of trying to make people quit but i usually message them afterwards letting them know how they can avoid it from happening again if they choose to quit its their choice not someone who attacked them
